Sin is not about breaking divine commandments. It is not about doing wrong things. It is the act of putting things above God, even things we can define to be good.
Christians who bear the idea that homosexuality is a right condoned by God, often do so because they deify love relationships. It is a misconception that because love relationships can be pure and essentially good in nature, God must therefore support all mannerisms of love relationships. However this is not true, as God has set the ways in which people can engage in such relationships.
One main argument for homosexuality is that God is fine with it. Yet the bible cannot be interpreted to support such a truth claim. If anything, the bible refers to homosexual acts as abominations in God's eyes.
A friend once chided me for riding a moral high horse when I told her that homosexuality was a sin. If I had any sense of self righteousness, it was greatly diminished by my trust in the word of God. My view that homosexuality is a sin was born purely from belief in the word of God. All I have left is a counter productive gospel donkey which refuses to ride my way. ( Yet another sign that the biblical word was never popular enough to be just legend )
The only problem I have thus far with homosexuality is my belief that it will distant people from God. I have yet to see why homosexuality is a sin, but to see through my eyes is not to see through His. To stay my aim through the sight of God, that is my hope, that is my prayer.
